Equestrian Art School

Kate Mieczkowska is an award winning figurative artist trained in  Contemporary Fine Art Painting and Sculpture at the renowned Winchester School of Art and Chelsea College of Art in London. She is also a registered retrainer of racehorses with the RoR charity and  is qualified with the British Horse Society in equine training and management.  She can combine her skills and knowledge in both areas to provide insight into the anatomy, movement, psychology and the emotional relationships horses have with human beings. Her artistic career was kick started when she was six years old and given a copy of George Stubbs's equine anatomy drawings. She copied them relentlessly, becoming frustrated that they wouldn't move.  She treasured that book throughout her life as it drilled into her the core principles of equine form and movement.  She has come to understand and love horses completely and now is able to share the knowledge and skills she has with her students through her art. 

Horses are an integral part of our culture. As the saying goes some of us have them 'in the blood'. They  figure time and time again in our collective mythologies, narratives and dreams. They represent so much to so many of us in very diverse ways. .Kate started riding before she could walk and has spent her life enchanted by horses. She has worked and trained with horses in racing,, polo,, eventing , dressage and endurance.. She rides,, trains and teaches at her own premises where you are invited to come to paint with her.. The equestrian facility combines environmental preservation with keeping horses as naturally as possible. Visiting the yard also gives artists access to the most incredible array of wildlife who live alongside the horses. The landscape and ancient culture involving horses can be clearly seen and visited to inspire you even further in developing your own visual language involving the equine form.

We offer a diverse range of programs, including drawing, painting, and sculpture. Our classes are designed to challenge and inspire students at all skill levels, from beginners to professional artists. One to one sessions and group sessions available. Bespoke corporate team building days and painting parties by arrangement. Kate can travel nationwide.  Materials and transport provided at additional  cost.
